Electronic resources librarian Martin Cooperson will offer free morning and afternoon classes. Each class will meet twice a week with each meeting lasting for two hours. Classes offered include Basic Computing Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. Patrons may register in person beginning at 8 a. 7 at the Main Library or by phone after 10 a.

College communications specialist Bonnie Wendt chair of the committee in charge of creating the time capsule said members also put in a flash drive with campus newsletters and photos. Along with it is a compact disc containing a Microsoft PowerPoint slide show highlighting the college’s role in Mat-Su history and a software program to play it in case Microsoft isn’t as ubiquitous in 50 years as it is today. Wendt said she hadn’t thought to print out a paper copy of the presentation in case technology evolves past compact discs and PowerPoint. But she plans to add it now. Wendt said the time capsule needs one more document — a letter from college director Dennis Clark — before it is sealed up with silicone to prevent tampering before the "open on" date. With expansion planned for the campus Wendt said building maintenance officials advised against the usual method of burying the capsule for its 50-year rest.

It was a hands-on workshop on Microsoft PowerPoint which aimed at imparting the skills for preparing good power point presentations. The workshop was awarded four credit hours by the Punjab Medical Council. Approximately 40 participants attended the workshop. The registration was followed by inauguration by the Principal Dr Daljit Singh.
