Microsoft had banged on for so long about Project Green as the answer to all things applications that shaking the name was going to take more than a simple rebranding. Dead or whimpering?So what happened? Is Green dead or simply lying whimpering in the corner? Indeed did we ever really understand what it was all about in the first place? Could we have misunderstood what it was that Microsoft intended for Green in the first place? Updates to ffice have been regular and if we’re honest unremarkable. There’s little that can be done to these programs to tempt most of us toupgrade. This time it’s different. Even more exciting than Google's new offering is another online program called Zoho. Unlike Google Apps Zoho has its own version of PowerPoint and can produce charts from spreadsheets; as of now. Zoho is additionally compatible with Microsoft ffice and allows users to work in ffice while offline and transfer work easily back and forth. Like Google Zoho offers free and premium packages of its services. Currently it is most useful to use Google Apps and Zoho in conjunction with Microsoft's already established and universally accepted ffice programs.
