The ability to switch between video and computer sources makes the Anycast Station particularly useful for events such as elections which require frequent switching between computer-generated statistics and live footage. Text can also be generated natively using the Anycast with any of the user-installed TrueType fonts. ther computer-generated data can be stored and displayed easily on the Anycast thanks to the support the system lends to applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheets. ften coupled with more than one camera the Anycast Station also turns its operator into a cameraman with its remote-control options over any Sony camera that is connected. Available too are zoom focus and iris controls as well as basic pan-and-tilt motion control. Two live video feeds can also be recorded onto an external hard-disk drive connected via IEEE 1394 FireWire as with the final PGM output from the Anycast. Allowing for direct input recording means that footage from the cameras can be stored for archiving and repackaging or cued externally via a PC for playback later.
